THERE'S NO DENYING IT – learning to play scale can be more
Than a little bit on the dull side. That said, it is very useful to have at least a
Rudimentary knowledge of how they work. When you understand scale and the
Way in which notes are related to one another, you also begin to understand how
Harmony and melody work and why certain combinations and sequence of
Notes work better than others. It's invaluable knowledge not only for song writers
And composers, but also for the soloing guitarist, as scales are at the very heart
Of lead playing. So there you have it: love 'em, you can't live
Without them. Scales rock!
